COVID-19 UPDATES

ministry is ongoing!

Affirming God-given value

still multiplying possibilities

New Braunfels Christian Ministries is adapting programming to work together with families, volunteers and community partners to affirm God-given value and multiply possibilities in our community. Together we are greater than disease, diagnosis, circumstance and COVID-19.

VOLUNTEERS IN MEDICINE

Volunteers in Medicine continues to provide critical health care to our patients. Clinical protocols change daily to optimize patient and staff health and support nationwide efforts to halt the spread of the virus.

KIDS CLUB

Kids Club staff and volunteers are actively engaged with Kids Club families and students in a variety of ways.  They are connecting with students and families with phone calls, emails, and handwritten notes. Staff members are preparing creative methods to extend the hope of Jesus to our community.

"

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
2 Timothy 1:7 – NJKV

In addition, staff are connecting with students and families with “Power House” chapel videos and providing educational and spiritual resources and assistance. Kids Club program sites will remained closed through April 24.

March 13, 2020

New Braunfels Christian Ministries is committed to keeping children, families, patients, volunteers, and staff safe as we do the important work of affirming God-given value and multiplying possibilities through Kids Club and Volunteers in Medicine.

NBCM has been monitoring the public health situation related to the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), and we will continue to do so.  NBCM will also continue to follow recommendations from the Comal County Public Health Department, the Centers for Disease Control, our local school districts, and government officials.

We are following guidelines from the CDC and Comal County Health Department, including:

  • Cleaning – We have put in place additional cleaning/sanitizing procedures at all program sites.
  • Hygiene – We are implementing additional measures to equip staff, volunteers, patients, and students to maintain good hygiene at all times.
  • Contact – We are asking staff, volunteers, patients, and students to refrain from physical contact.
  • Staying Home – We are asking all staff and volunteers to stay home if they are ill or have any symptoms associated with Coronavirus (COVID-19).

In addition, we continue to develop contingency plans for our programs, and we are prepared to take direction from health officials and government leaders to ensure the safety of our patients, children, families, volunteers, and staff.

In the coming days we pledge:

  • To Be Flexible – We will remain vigilant and flexible, ready to adapt as circumstances require.
  • To Communicate – We will continue to communicate with you as the situation evolves.
  • To Pray – We will pray for those struggling with Novel Coronavirus, for medical professionals and government leaders, and for an end to the spread of disease.

In this time, as at any other, we must remember: “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7 – NJKV). Fear does not drive us, motivate us, or determine our course.  God is our guide. He is in control.

All our decisions, all our actions are guided by love: God’s love for us, our love for Him and for all people.  When we trust God, He gives us the wisdom we need to think clearly, use good judgement, and make wise decisions.

Let us move forward together in a confident faith.
